Itinerary in Detail:

KEYS:

DAY 01: Arrival at KILIMANJARO INT. AIRPORT

On arrival you will be met and welcomed by your private safari guide who will transfer you to Kia Lodge, a short drive away from the airport. Dinner (payable direct) and overnight at KIA LODGE (BB)

DAY 02: Depart for TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK – 2 hrs drive

After an early breakfast, your driver/guide will pick you up and then departure for Tarangire National Park. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch.

The park is home to lion, leopard, hyena, herds of elephant, tree climbing python, oryx, hartebeest, zebra, buffalo, gazelles but to mention a few. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded including the red-billed quellea, kori bustard and ostrich. Baobab Trees are scattered throughout the park. Afternoon game drive in the park.

DAY 03: Full day at TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK – Lake Manyara National Park

The day is yours at leisure to arrange with your guide. You could have breakfast and then head out for a full day in the park with unlimited game drives. You have a choice of departing with picnic lunches or returning to the lodge for lunch.

Herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. It is the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem - a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed.

You will then be transferred to Lake Manyara National Park for dinner and overnight at KIRURUMU TENTED LODGE (FB)

DAY 04: Depart for LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK – Karatu Village

After a sumptuous breakfast, you will start your day with an early morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, known for its tree climbing lions. You will opt to return to your lodge for lunch or depart with lunchboxes. You will then be transferred to Karatu Village, just at the foot of the crater. Dinner and overnight at NGORONGORO FARM HOUSE. (FB)

DAY 05: Depart for NDUTU – In Ngorongoro Conservation Area – 3.5 hrs drive

Depart after breakfast for Lake Ndutu in Ngorongoro Conservation Area to arrive at your lodge in time for lunch.

Lake Ndutu is one of a series of alkaline rich soda lakes and home to rich game populations. Afternoon game drive in the wildlife rich area.

Dinner and overnight at NDUTU SAFARI LODGE (FB)

DAYS 06 – 08: Full days in NDUTU

Enjoy extensive game drives in the reserve with the vehicle & guide at your disposal throughout the day. Your period of travel falls during the calving of wildebeest season and you will have a chance to witness this great natural phenomenon of birth.

DAY 09: Depart for SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK - Seronera Area –  4.5 hrs drive

Breakfast at your lodge and early morning game drive. Depart for the world famous Serengeti National Park – Seronera Area to arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in your custom safari built 4 x 4 vehicle. Dinner and overnight at SERENGETI SOPA / SERENA LODGE – (FB)

Serengeti is one of the most unique wilderness areas of the world, fantastic in its natural beauty and unequalled in its scientific value. This park is a vast expanse of land with a large concentration of plains animals. It also contains a wide variety of bird-life inhabiting a diversity of habitat and vegetation. One of the most unique remarkable scenes is the annual migration of wildebeest, zebras, giraffe, gazelle, buffalo and other plains animals.

DAY 10 - 11: Full days in CENTRAL SERENGETI

Enjoy a full day in the Central Serengeti with unlimited game drives. All meals and overnight at SERENGETI SOPA/SERENA LODGE. (FB)

DAY 11: Full day in CENTRAL SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Full day in Serengeti with unlimited game drives in the park and your choice packed breakfast or lunch if you like. You could also enjoy just a morning and afternoon game drive if you prefer or simply go out for a longer morning game drive or even a full day game drive.

DAY 12: Depart for NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA – 5 hrs drive

Early morning game drive and breakfast. Drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority. You will arrive in time for late lunch at your lodge. You will spend the rest of the afternoon at your disposal to enjoy lodge facilities. Dinner and overnight at NGORONGORO SERENA / SOPA LODGE – (FB)

DAY 13: NGORONGORO CRATER Tour

After breakfast descend for the crater floor with packed lunch for half a day crater tour.

The Ngorongoro Crater and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area are without a doubt some of the most beautiful parts of Tanzania, steeped in history and teeming with wildlife. This protected area is located in the Great Rift Valley and also known as the eighth wonder of the world. The Crater actually is a gigantic fracture of the earth's crust. The magnificent landscape consists of volcanoes, mountains, plains, lakes, forests and archaeological sites. At 1600 meters altitude the bottom of the Crater (265 km square),

dotted with watering holes, offers shelter to almost 30.000 animals in an area naturally enclosed by the slopes of the volcano. The Crater elephants are strangely, mainly bulls.

There is a small number of black rhino. The bird life is largely seasonal and is also affected by the ratio of soda and fresh water on the Crater floor. You will also explore the wildlife: lions, elephants, zebra, hippo, buffalos, and rhino are just a few to be mentioned.

You will then be transferred to Karatu for dinner and overnight at NGORONGORO FARM HOUSE (FB)

DAY 14: Drive back to Kilimanjaro International Airport & departure

Breakfast at your lodge. Drive back via scenic landscape to Kilimanjaro with a short stop-over in Arusha for lunch. You will then be transferred to the airport for your outbound flight
